In the previous article, we’ve learned how to add a staff account and let the dropshipping agent connect your store with their ERP system, Dianxiaomi, to automate handling orders and fulfillment processing. However, since Shopify limits staff accounts on the Basic and Starter plans, you might wonder if there’s a way to speed up order processing without needing a staff account.
Fortunately, there is!
In this article, we’ll guide you through two free methods to export Shopify orders to Excel/CSV. You can even use Google Sheets for real-time synchronization with your agent. Let’s dive in!
Method 1: How to Export Shopify Orders in Default Way (100% FREE)
Step 1: Click Orders from Shopify Admin Dashboard.
Step 2: You will be redirected to the All page, which displays all of the orders, whether fulfilled or unfulfilled.
Step 3: Click Unfulfilled and then click Export
Step 4: An Export Orders window shows up. You can select the current page, all orders, xx orders matching your search, or orders by date. Here we chose all orders.
Step 5: In Export As, we choose CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs.
You will have a file downloading immediately, and that’s everything you can share with your dropshipping agent for order processing and fulfillment. This method is recommended because it’s swift and doesn’t need to wait.
Method 2: How to Export Shopify Orders with Exportier (Limited Version)
Step 1: Install Exportier from the Shopify App Store and enter this App from the Shopify Admin Dashboard.
Step 2: You will need to create a New Report for the first time.
Step 3: Select these options in Fields in order.
Name > Processed at > Customer: First name > Customer: Last name > Billing address: Full address > Billing address: City > Billing address: Country code > Billing address: Country > Billing address: Phone > Customer: Email > Customer: Number of orders > Line items / Product: Handle > Line items: Name
Tips: You can always choose your preferred sort of order.
Step 4: After choosing these options, the next step is Add Filter. Follow below screenshot to choose Export all items where > Fulfillment status > is > Check Unshipped, Partial, or Unfulfilled.
Step 5: Click Save to save the current report. You will see a New report showing as Not Ready. Click the Run button to let the Exporter process your report.
Step 6. After a while, the download icon will be available for clicking. Click this icon to download your report. Then, send this report to your dropshipping agent. That’s all.
Method 3: Use Google Sheet for Advanced Synchronization (Bonus)
Step 1: Open Google Sheet in your browser, and sign in with your Google account.
Step 2: Create a blank spreadsheet.
Step 3: Select Files > Import > Upload > Choose Your generated Shopify order report to upload > Import Data
Step 4: You will see your report data showing up in Google Sheet. Rename this Google name to your favorite spreadsheet name.
Step 5: Share this Google sheet with your dropshipping agent. That’s all.
Conclusion
For startups, it might not be the best time to upgrade your Shopify subscription from Basic or Starter to a more advanced plan, especially when you’re trying to keep costs down. Plus, your dropshipping agent might not have an ERP system, adding another layer of complexity to the process.
By using the free methods outlined in this article, you can still efficiently export orders and communicate with your agent without needing to spend extra money on upgrades. This approach lets you keep things simple and effective, helping you build a solid foundation for your business as it grows. As you expand, you can think about investing in more advanced tools and subscriptions, but for now, hopefully this article will help you!
